Why an immigration lawyer matters in Poland
- The office has 60 days to decide a temporary residence case (art. 112a of the Act on Foreigners) and 90 days for permanent residence or EU long-term resident status — counted from a complete application. Most delays start with a wrong legal basis or missing documents.
- An appeal against a refusal must be filed within 14 days, and an appeal against a return decision within the deadline stated in the decision — these terms are not extended because you did not understand a letter in Polish.
- All official correspondence is in Polish. With a power of attorney it is delivered to our office, reviewed the day it arrives, and answered on time.
- If the office is already late, a formal demand to act (ponaglenie) signed by an attorney puts your case on record — you can check your deadline with our calculator.
Frequently asked questions
Do you speak English?
Yes — consultations, e-mails and your client panel are available in English. We also work in Russian, Ukrainian, Spanish, Arabic, Azerbaijani and Uzbek. Filings to Polish offices are prepared in Polish by the firm, as the law requires.
Can you help if I do not live in Warsaw?
Yes. Residence applications are filed through the MOS online module, correspondence is delivered to our address under a power of attorney, and consultations are held online — we handle cases in every voivodeship in Poland.
How long does a residence card take in 2026?
The statutory term is 60 days for temporary residence and 90 days for permanent residence or EU long-term resident status, counted from a complete application. In practice big offices run longer — which is when a demand to act, filed on record, matters.
Can a lawyer speed up my case?
No one can lawfully jump the queue, and an honest lawyer will not promise that. What shortens cases in practice: the right legal basis from day one, a complete application, answers to office letters within their deadlines, and a formal demand to act when the office exceeds its statutory term.
How much does legalisation cost?
Handling a residence case costs 2200 PLN, or a promotional 1900 PLN in the online service with the same scope of work. Official fees (for example 340 PLN for temporary residence, 640 PLN for permanent residence, 100 PLN for the card) are paid directly to the office.
Can I start today, online?
Yes. The online legalisation service, the demand to act and the return decision analysis can all be bought on this website — you upload documents as phone photos and the firm takes it from there. For anything else, book a consultation.
