Residence card in Gdańsk 2026 — Pomeranian Voivodeship Office: addresses, hours, phone, case status

Residence cases from Gdańsk, Gdynia, Sopot and the whole Pomeranian region are handled by the Foreigners' Department of the Pomeranian Voivodeship Office — and it has several addresses that people constantly confuse. Below is what we verified on the office's websites on 2 October 2026: where to go, where to send letters, how to book a visit, where to get your case number and which account to pay into. If you would rather have the case run through our firm, and go to the office only for fingerprints and the card, see our online residence legalisation.

Addresses of the foreigners' office in Gdańsk — which one is for what

Since 27 April 2026 applications for temporary residence, permanent residence and EU long-term resident status are filed only electronically, in the case handling module (MOS). You still go to the office in person, though — for fingerprints, with documents requested in a summons and to collect the card — and letters are still sent. Each of these has its own address:

  • customer service — ul. Chmielna 74/76, 80-748 Gdańsk (ground floor, service hall); Monday 8:00–17:30, Tuesday to Friday 8:00–15:15;
  • paper correspondence — Pomorski Urząd Wojewódzki w Gdańsku, ul. Okopowa 21/27, 80-810 Gdańsk;
  • electronic correspondence — e-Delivery address AE:PL-69276-68927-JEAHF-27;
  • branch office in Słupsk — ul. Jana Pawła II 1, rooms 416–418 (4th floor), 76-200 Słupsk.

The most common mistake in this city is sending a letter to Chmielna, because that is where people go in person. Such a letter travels around the office before it reaches the official handling the case, and when you are answering a summons every day counts. Addresses and hours in Łódź, Opole and Poznań are compared in our article residence card in Łódź, Gdańsk, Opole and Poznań.

Phone and e-mail — what you will hear and what you will not

General information of the Foreigners' Department in Gdańsk is available at 58 30 77 466 and cudzoziemcy.pobyt@gdansk.uw.gov.pl, and the department's secretariat at 58 30 77 334. The helpline will explain the procedure and confirm that your application arrived. It will not tell you what is missing from the file, whether the official is waiting for another authority's opinion or whether the case is heading for a refusal — information about a specific case is given only to the party and their attorney.

How to book a visit and when you can come without one

Visits in Gdańsk are booked in the kolejka.gdansk.uw.gov.pl system. The office asks you to arrive no earlier than 15 minutes before the booked time. Without a booking you can take a ticket from the ticket machine during service hours — for example to supplement documents in a pending case or to get information.

Słupsk is stricter: every visit requires an online booking, and the only exception is collecting ready documents — residence cards, Polish travel documents and invitations are issued without registration on every working day between 12:00 and 14:45, in room 416.

Case status in Gdańsk and where to get your case number

You check the stage of your case on the klient.gdansk.uw.gov.pl portal. To log in you need the case number and a password — the office gives them in its first letter in the case and, on request, during a personal visit. If you have an attorney, that first letter goes to them, because all correspondence is sent to the attorney's address. An application filed through MOS is also visible in your account in the case handling module.

The portal shows the stage, not the contents of the file. A status such as “analysis of evidence” can sit there for months, and the screen will not tell you whether the case is waiting for you or for the office. What each message means is explained in our article residence card case status — what the stages mean.

Fees in Gdańsk — two transfers to two different accounts

The permit and the card are paid for separately, into different accounts and at different times. Rates and account numbers according to the fee table of the Pomeranian Voivodeship Office:

  • stamp duty for the permit — 340 PLN temporary residence, 440 PLN temporary residence and work, 640 PLN permanent residence and EU long-term resident — to the account of Urząd Miejski w Gdańsku 31 1240 1268 1111 0010 3877 3935;
  • fee for issuing the residence card — 100 PLN, or 50 PLN for children under 16, pupils and students — to the account of the Pomeranian Voivodeship Office 07 1010 1140 0169 1322 3100 0000, only after the decision;
  • amendment of a temporary residence and work permit, for example when changing employer — 220 PLN stamp duty.

A transfer to the wrong account or a missing proof of payment is a formal defect. It ends with a summons to supplement, and every summons pushes the case back by further weeks — in Gdańsk we see this pattern most often in cases people run on their own.

The Gdańsk office is silent — an urging motion instead of waiting

The voivode has 60 days to decide once the application is complete (article 112a(1) of the Act on Foreigners). When that deadline has passed, the remedy is an urging motion under article 37 of the Code of Administrative Procedure, addressed to the Head of the Office for Foreigners through the Pomeranian voivode. We prepare it online for 199 PLN, and if you want the firm to take the whole case over, including correspondence with the office and a complaint about inactivity, that costs 1199 PLN. One Gdańsk-specific point: the office itself states that once a complaint is filed with the administrative court, the file goes to the court and the proceedings resume only after it returns with a final judgment. So the order of remedies has to be planned, not chosen in frustration. Start with a document that stays in the file: urging motion online for 199 PLN.

How we run cases from Gdańsk — remotely and with access to the file

You do not need to live in Warsaw to work with us. We establish the legal basis of your stay and a document list tailored to your situation, file the application in MOS, receive correspondence from the Pomeranian Voivodeship Office at the firm's address and review the file when the case stalls. You go to the office only for fingerprints and to collect the card. Kancelaria Radców Prawnych Bartosz Krajewski handles residence legalisation for 2200 PLN, and in online mode — you upload photos of your documents from your phone — at a promotional 1900 PLN. The official fees described above are paid separately.

If you already have a case number, a summons or a decision from Gdańsk, start by showing us those letters — usually within fifteen minutes it is clear whether the case is on the right track. The full scope of our help is described on the page foreigners' cases — help from our firm.
