Online service

Exchange your foreign driving licence for a Polish one

We run the whole case: we check the document, order the sworn translation, file the application at the transport department and collect the finished licence. You sign two documents and post them to us.

Check whether we can exchange your licence without an exam

It all depends on the country that issued the document. Pick it from the list — you get the answer straight away.

Membership of the convention does not settle everything: the office also checks whether the document itself matches the convention model. That is why a lawyer looks at the scan of your licence before we file.

Law firm fee
1000PLN

The price covers running the whole case. The licence issue fee and the sworn translation are settled separately — usually around 200 PLN in total. We give you the exact amount before you incur any cost.

  • Checking whether your document qualifies for exchange without an exam
  • Sworn translation of the licence — we order it and keep an eye on the deadline
  • Preparing the application and the full set of declarations
  • Filing the application at the transport department as your attorney
  • Correspondence with the office until the document is issued
  • Collecting the Polish licence and handing it over to you
Order the exchange

You pay at the end — after filling in the form and uploading the documents.

How it works

  1. 1

    You fill in the form

Details from your licence and ID document plus your address in Poland. The form works in eight languages.

  2. 2

You upload scans and sign two documents

Both sides of the licence, your ID document, a photograph. We generate the power of attorney and the declaration ready to print — you sign them, upload a scan and post us the originals.

  3. 3

You pay and we take over

We order the sworn translation, complete the application and file it at the transport department for your place of residence.

  4. 4

    You collect the Polish licence

We keep you informed about the case. When the Polish document is collected, the foreign licence is surrendered — without that the office will not issue the new one.

Timing

Contact after purchase
the same working day if you pay before 15:00, otherwise the next one
Filing at the office
within 3 working days of the documents being complete
Issue of the licence by the office
usually a few weeks — the office verifies the document in the issuing country

The official timeline cannot be sped up and may stretch when the foreign authority is slow to answer. We keep track of the case and tell you about every change.

  • The case is run by a legal counsel
  • Service in eight languages
  • Everything online, no visit to the office

Frequently asked questions

Will I have to take an exam?

No, provided the licence was issued by a country that is a party to the Geneva or Vienna convention and the document itself matches the convention model. Check your country above — if the answer is positive, the exchange needs no exam.

Do I have to go to the office?

No. We file the application as your attorney. Your part ends with signing the power of attorney and the declaration and posting them to us with the photograph.

When do I need to exchange the licence?

A non-EU foreign licence lets you drive in Poland for the first six months after you settle here. You can obtain the Polish document once you stay in Poland for at least 185 days a year because of personal or occupational ties.

Are medical tests required?

When exchanging a valid licence a medical certificate is usually not required. The office asks for one when the document has expired or when professional categories are involved (C, D and their derivatives).

Do I have to give up my foreign licence?

Yes. The foreign document is surrendered when the Polish one is collected — that is what an exchange is. Without it the office will not issue the Polish licence.
