Permanent residence and EU resident: case handled by the law firm for 4000 PLN

A permanent residence permit and an EU long-term resident permit are the only two cards you never have to renew. You file once; a refusal means a lost fee and more years on temporary permits. That is why we run this case from start to finish: it begins with a consultation with an attorney-at-law, included in the price, and ends when you collect the card. The fee is 4000 PLN. Start by booking the consultation.

4000 PLNfull case handling, lawyer consultation included

Official fees (640 PLN for the permit, 100 PLN for the card, 17 PLN for the power of attorney) are paid separately.

Who qualifies: two different routes to a permit with no expiry

Permanent residence is granted for ties with Poland, EU long-term residence for years of stay. Choosing the wrong route is the most common reason for refusal, so we check your basis at the consultation before anything reaches the office.

Permanent residence permit (art. 195 of the Act on Foreigners)

  • holder of a valid Pole's Card or a person of Polish origin intending to settle in Poland permanently
  • spouse of a Polish citizen: at least 3 years of marriage and 2 years of uninterrupted stay on a temporary permit granted for that marriage
  • child of a Polish citizen, or child of a foreigner holding permanent residence or EU resident status
  • 5 years of stay with refugee status, subsidiary protection or humanitarian stay, 10 years on tolerated stay, asylum

EU long-term resident permit (art. 211)

  • 5 years of legal, uninterrupted stay directly before the application: no single break longer than 6 months, no more than 10 months in total
  • a stable and regular source of income for the last 3 years (2 years with an EU Blue Card)
  • health insurance
  • Polish at level B1 or higher: a state certificate, or a school leaving certificate or university diploma taught in Polish (post-secondary schools do not count); children under 16 are exempt

None of these fit? At the consultation we also check other options, including the next temporary permit or citizenship by recognition if you have already held a permanent card for 3 years.

How it works: four steps, one visit to the office

  1. Consultation with an attorney-at-law (included)

45 minutes at our office at Marszałkowska 20/22, office 72, Warsaw, or online. We establish the basis, count periods of stay and breaks, check income and language. You leave with a decision: permanent residence or EU resident, and a plan.

  2. Document list and complete file

You get a list tailored to your basis, not a generic office checklist. You upload documents to the client panel as phone photos; we check them, catch missing translations and gaps before anything is sent.

  3. MOS application and fingerprints

We prepare the application in the MOS system for your signature with a trusted profile. Then one visit to the office for fingerprints, on a date we track for you.

  4. The office writes to us, you collect the card

Correspondence comes to the firm under a power of attorney. We answer summonses, and if the voivode exceeds the 6-month deadline, we file a demand to act as part of the case. You go to the office only to collect the card.

What the 4000 PLN covers, and what you pay separately

Included

  • consultation with an attorney-at-law (45 minutes, office or online)
  • analysis of the basis, periods of stay, income and the language requirement
  • a document list for your situation and verification of the complete file
  • MOS application prepared for your signature, power of attorney
  • correspondence with the office, replies to summonses, demand to act if the deadline passes
  • service in 8 languages, remotely across Poland

Separately, directly to the office

  • 640 PLN stamp duty for the permanent residence or EU resident permit (Pole's Card holders are exempt)
  • 100 PLN for issuing the residence card, paid before filing in MOS
  • 17 PLN stamp duty for the power of attorney
  • sworn translations of foreign-language documents, if needed

The price is fixed and known from the start. An appeal against a possible refusal is quoted separately after we read the decision.

Why hand this case to a law firm

One application, one chance for years

A permanent residence application filed after five years of work ends in refusal, because length of stay is not a basis for permanent residence. The fee is not refunded and the EU resident count starts again. We establish the basis before filing.

We count breaks and income the way the office does

Trips abroad, contract changes, insurance gaps: the office checks every month of the last five years. We check the same beforehand and tell you plainly whether to file now or in a few months.

When the office is silent, we act

The voivode has 6 months to decide. When the deadline passes, we file a demand to act under art. 37 of the Administrative Procedure Code, followed by a complaint for inaction if needed.

The road to citizenship

After 3 years on a permanent or EU resident permit you may apply for recognition as a Polish citizen. We handle that case too.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between permanent residence and EU long-term resident?
Both permits have no expiry and allow work without a work permit. Permanent residence requires ties with Poland (origin, Pole's Card, marriage to a citizen, protection); EU resident requires 5 years of stay, income, insurance and Polish at B1. A permanent residence card is valid 10 years, an EU resident card 5 years, and EU resident status makes residence in other EU states easier. At the consultation we point to the right route for you.
How much does case handling cost?
4000 PLN, including the consultation with an attorney-at-law. Official fees are paid separately: 640 PLN for the permit, 100 PLN for the card and 17 PLN for the power of attorney. Book a consultation and we confirm the price and scope in writing.
How long does it take to get the card?
The law gives the voivode 6 months to decide from a complete application. In practice large offices can exceed this, so we track correspondence and file a demand to act when the deadline passes. No honest lawyer will promise a specific date.
Will I get permanent residence after 5 years of work?
No. Length of employment is not a basis for permanent residence. After 5 years of legal stay with income, insurance and Polish at B1 you can apply for EU long-term resident status. That is the application we prepare.
Do I have to pass a Polish language exam?
For the EU resident permit, yes: you need a certificate at level B1 or higher, or a school leaving certificate or university diploma taught in Polish. Permanent residence has no language requirement. State exam dates are far apart, so we plan them at the consultation.
Can I buy this service online without a consultation?
Yes. Online legalisation has a self-service permanent residence option for 3900 PLN: instead of a lawyer consultation you complete an AI interview, and the case then runs the same way. If you want to talk to a lawyer first and be sure of your basis, choose this page: the consultation is included.
Do you handle cases outside Warsaw?
Yes. The application is filed electronically in MOS, the consultation can be online and correspondence comes to the firm. You go to the office only for fingerprints and to collect the card, in your own voivodeship.
